  • Peace of mind during your vacation, while sleeping, for you, your children, your pets with the VAN MEENEN gas alarm. Quite important. Gases are unintentional, dangerous for humans and animals at the time of leakage and malfunctions in equipment, cylinders, or pipes. In addition to unintended situations, gases like Ether are increasingly being used to make people unconscious for committing robberies.

The VAN MEENEN alarm is specially designed to alert you when it is used to make people unconscious for committing robberies. The newest and most innovative alarm with a dual sensor, suitable for detecting both descending and ascending gases, is a very small alarm with a modern design that fits any interior. The VAN MEENEN alarm detects all the following gases: LPG (both butane/propane) in case of accidental leakage from an appliance, cylinder, or pipe. Carbon monoxide (CO) - which can be generated by a gas-operated appliance that is not properly ventilated or has insufficient supply of fresh air for the combustion process. Narcotic "knock-out" gases such as Ether - used in robberies to make victims unconscious. The sensor is extremely sensitive and warns even the smallest gas concentrations. The sensor's operation is checked at every start-up, and the automatic calibration tests every 40 seconds whether the setting is correct and adjusts it if necessary. Light and sound signals ensure that the user is always sure of its operation.

When the VAN MEENEN alarm detects a gas concentration in the ambient air, the pre-alarm goes off for 40 seconds. If the gas concentration remains the same or increases during the pre-alarm, the alarm is activated with a continuous alarm tone and the red LED stays on. If the gas concentration has disappeared after the pre-alarm, the VAN MEENEN alarm returns to stand-by mode.

Since some gases rise and some gases fall, it is possible to improve the operation of the gas alarm by placing an additional (optional) sensor that can be mounted at a different height.

The VAN MEENEN alarm is connected to the 12V-24V supply of the vehicle. The alarm must be mounted 30 cm above the floor surface. To make optimal use of a gas alarm in general, it is highly recommended to work with two sensors. We recommend installing the alarm at a height of 30cm above the floor for descending gases, and the optional extra sensor at least 1.50 high and at least 20 cm below the ceiling.

For error-free operation of your alarm, the ambient air should not contain environmentally harmful gases. Of course, the operation of the alarm must be checked regularly for your safety. You can do this by turning on the alarm and waiting for the green LED to stay on after the self-test. When you let only gas flow past the alarm with a lighter (without flame), the pre-alarm starts after a few seconds. When the gas continues to flow during the pre-alarm, the full alarm is activated.
